It is our pleasure to serve you as our guest! If we did a phenomenal job and you would like to thank your boat captain, instructor, or any of our staff for their service, you may choose to offer a gratuity. Since we receive questions about this often, we’ve provided a simple guideline to offering tips in Roatan. We hope that you find it helpful. You can read the Tipping Guidelines here.

There are ATM’s on the island and some do offer US Dollars, but none here in West End. They only dispense Honduran Lempira, which is perfectly fine here (1 USD ≈ 25 Lps), but most machines have a transaction limit of 4-5,000 Lps (≈ $160-$200), and ATM cards will also have a daily limit. Also, Lempira are worthless outside of Honduras, so don’t get too much!

In times of inclement weather there are some days where it isn’t possible to dive on this side of the island. On those days we take our boats around to the other side of the island to a private dock close to Barefoot Cay. The problem comes when we need to get you, our clients, all of the equipment, tanks, instructors/dive-masters etc. over to the other side of the island. So, we rent some transportation for you and for the gear. Normally, on those days we do 2 dives because of the time involved in this process, but you are still able to do 3 if you are quick. If you do do a 3rd dive then there will also be a remote tank fill charge ($10/tank) as above. If not, we will bring all the tanks back at night and fill them that evening and have them ready to go again the next day if the weather is still not co-operating.

The South side diving fee per boat is $200.

Waivers and Medical Considerations

You don’t have to be young or in top-notch shape to dive. However, there are some medical conditions that may prevent you from diving. When you register for ANY scuba/snorkeling course through Pro Dive Roatan, you will receive a medical questionnaire that must be completed before you participate.

If, when reviewing the form, you answer “YES” to any of the questions, we ask that you consult your doctor before participating.

You’ll receive a copy of the Diver’s RSTC Medical Statement that you bring to your doctor for signed approval. Once your doctor signs off on the form, you’ll bring it to us to save for your dive records.
